Have a great week….
Check out this creative way to prepare our hearts for Christmas..
Enjoy! More to come..
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
Recently, I have begun to notice what exactly I have been saying when I ask for my daily coffee. I always say “with room”. But what exactly am I asking for? I have recently been convicted that I live life “with room” for other things. That room, however, should be filled with Christ. What do we live our lives for? What do we fill our hearts with that leaves room for things that are not Godly or Christlike? What captivates our thoughts?
I never really realized what I was saying when I said “with room”. It is in that almost daily activity that I realize where I am most deficient. The verse above confirms that as well.
We are to take every thought captive for God. But in our nature we leave room for other things. I pray as we go forth that this verse will convict us as we seek to have NO room for anything else but Christ!

Zeph.3:17 The LORD your God is with you,
He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with his love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
What comes to your mind when reading this verse? Peace? Love? Stability? Fear and wonder? How could someone love me like this? No way? Absolutely?
The truth is this is how God feels about each of you reading this post. Even in our sin and wordly desires, this is what God is doing this very minute. As you go about your life this week, remember this verse in your worries and in your approach to others.
Have a great week of worship…
Check out how God works in the hardest of times…
Today is not just Friday, it’s GOOD Friday! God demonstrated his goodness by sending His son Jesus to die on the cross; He bore ALL of our sins, setting us free and making us NEW. What’s your new name?
“For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, to hew for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns that can hold no water.”
(Jeremiah 2:13)
What do you chase after? Being popular? The best athlete? Being a better person, son, daughter, or spouse? Being a better Christian? The perfect relationship?
The truth is we are all searching for something. The key is what that is. As stated in verse 13, we make our own idols and cisterns to chase after and fill us up. But does that ultimately work?
The answer, through trial and tribulation, is a resounding no! We end up with broken cisterns all around us that leave us more and more empty. We forsake God to fit in or to find temporary satisfaction, leaving us even more thirsty and hungry.
As illustrated in the conversation Jesus had with the woman at the well in the book of John, He is the true source of living water. He alone can fill us up. We must drink from the true source of living water so that our cisterns won’t be broken.
Knowing this, I chase hard after the things that will fill me up. Namely, my relationship with Christ. Nothing else that we do matters. It is important to remember that our lives and what we seek after will ultimately shatter if God is not at the center.
I hope you will become more intentional this week and seek after Him…..

1“(A)I am the true vine, and My Father is the (B)vinedresser. 2“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He [a]prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.3“(C)You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.4“(D)Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.
Are you abiding in God? Sometimes it takes us a long time to understand this principle. It sure has for me. Apart from God, we can do nothing. Think about what you are worried or confused about. Remember, your rythm depends on being with God. Abide in Him so you can accomplish much.
Have a good week of worship…..
